Pilots

What We Offer
'Remember your creator in the days of your youth’ (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
WHO ARE PILOTS?
Pilots is the group at St.Mary's Church for young people aged 11 and over, or Year 6 upwards (we are quite flexible!)
WHAT DO WE DO?
We have a monthly session during the 9:30 service on Sunday mornings. We begin with a chat over hot chocolate and croissants in the kitchen and maybe a quick game. We usually follow by reading and discussing the Gospel or other appointed reading for the day, sometimes with a dramatic interpretation or looking at related visual art. We join the rest of the congregation in the main body of the church in time for communion.
WHAT ELSE DO WE DO?
We also have social activities and outings. These have included Easter sleepovers in the Church, a visit to Winchester Cathedral and making banners for Pentecost. The Pilots have made their own music video, shooting a series of clips in the Church during a Light Party, then editing and adding music and titles. For those with lots of energy, we have also been climbing and donutting.
