Church groups and activities at St. Mary's

The Church heading

Our Church is not simply a building, but a body of people who together constitute the Body of Christ in this place. See below for a selection of the groups and activities at St. Mary's which make this such a vibrant and active community.

"How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."    (Genesis 28:17)
The Christmas Tree Festival was a popular choice for many families on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December.
'O all things that grow on the earth, bless the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever.'  (Song of the Three Children)
Although our local community of Basingstoke and Deane is largely a prosperous and successful one there are still families who face hardship and periods of crisis.
Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs. (Matt 19)
"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119 v105)
'Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast.' (John 21.12)
Messy Church is fun. It values creativity, celebration and hospitality. It is ‘church’ because it encourages everyone to meet with Jesus in worship and with each other.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;fools despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs 1)
The parish of St Mary's, Old Basing and Lychpit, currently has a vacancy for a vicar. Details of the parish, its mission and the role of the priest can be found in the attached document.
'Remember your creator in the days of your youth’  (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
'the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.' (Gen 3)
Each year we support the Ride & Stride event, both by welcoming visitors and sending out walkers and cyclists to tour around local churches.
“Serve the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing”  (Psalm 100.2)
Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter: whoever finds one has found a treasure. (Eccles 6)
With joy you will draw water from the wells of Salvation (Isaiah 12:3)
